Season One DVD One – Conduit

The X-Files Season One Disc One

Conduit

A family is out camping.

The mother awakes in the RV to a bright light and the entire RV shaking. Her son calls out that the daughter is gone.

The FBI director thinks Mulder’s study on the X-Files investigations may be a waste of Bureau money. He also believes Mulder may be letting his own agenda (the loss of his sister) interfere with his judgment on the X-Files.

I wonder if there is really a center for UFO studies in Evanston, IL.

The little boy is getting messages from the TV and writing down a binary code. Was the girl really taken by UFO’s or was she just hanging out with the wrong crowd? A mysterious tip leads them to look for Ruby’s (the girl’s name) old boyfriend.

They find a body at the lake near where the girl disappeared.

It turns out to be the boyfriend they were searching for. Mulder is still sure Ruby is still alive.

The boy’s codes include a sampling from a military satellite and they must deal with interference for the NSA. The boy’s codes also contain digital descriptions of various types of art (music, paintings) and DNA. The random bits of code assemble into a picture of Ruby.

Ruby is recovered. At this point, the mother asks that Mulder and Scully leave them alone (for the second time). She wants her children to grow up without the stigma of others thinking they are kooks.

This episode of the X-Files brings in government agencies but not necessarily the ones involved in the conspiracy.
