Young At Heart

An inmate hears screams from the infirmary of a prison.

There, a doctor has cut a hand off an apparently dead inmate. As he is threatened out of the infirmary, he sees the other inmate blink.

 Mulder is called to a murder scene by a fellow officer. There is a clue left that was for Mulder to find. Apparently, one of Mulder’s first cases has resurfaced. Although he was supposed to be dead, a man (Barnett) who threatened to get Mulder for sending him to prison, seems to be back on the street and killing. 

Barnett seems to have gotten younger, if it really is him.

Is it someone pretending to be Barnett?

It is Barnett. He leaves his signature note to Mulder at the murder of an FBI friend of Mulder’s. He claims he will kill all Mulder’s friends before he kills Mulder.

Dr. Ridley, who claimed Barnett was dead, had been doing research with children that age prematurely.

He had discovered a way to stop aging.

Barnett is the only one to have survived Ridley’s treatment. Ridley himself is now dying.

Mulder meets with Deep Throat. Deep Throat has some information. Apparently, someone in the government helped Ridley continue his research outside the country. Barnett has stolen all Ridley’s research and has been trying to work a deal with the government.

Can Mulder stop Barnett?

Can he get him alive and save research that could change the future of mankind?
