This is one of my all time favorite X-Files episodes. It had an interesting story and great effects. I really enjoy watching this episode on DVD late at night with the lights off.

Shapes
A rancher and his son are checking the ranch for an animal that has been killing his herds.
The son is attacked out of the shadows by a beast that throws him around. The father arrives just in time to shoot the beast before it can finish off the young man. The beast then turns into a local Indian man.More on The X-Files Season One DVD Five – Shapes

An Arabian pilot spots a craft while on patrol near Iraq .
Believing he is under attack he fires and hit the craft. The unknown craft crashes near a NATO outpost on the Turkish border.
